How we begin

Consult first. Decide with clarity.

  1. Free initial consultation

We discuss your general concern, lawful purpose, timing, and whether the request may be a good fit. Please share only minimal information until conflict screening is complete.

  2. Feasibility and boundaries

I review authority, conflicts, safety, relevant qualifications, access limits, and realistic next steps. Some requests need a referral or cannot be accepted.

  3. Written agreement

Before paid work begins, we agree on tasks, exclusions, rates, expenses, a spending limit, and reporting. A consultation or inquiry alone does not retain me or reserve a deadline.

  4. Investigation and reporting

I document agreed work and explain findings, source limitations, and unresolved questions. Further work requires agreed authorization.

Transparent expectations

You will understand the proposed work, costs, exclusions, and reporting plan before paid work begins. I communicate important limitations and seek written approval for changes to scope or budget.

Trauma-informed practice

I explain the process and its limits, use respectful questions, and discuss breaks, accessibility, and communication needs. Participation in voluntary interviews is a choice.
